A Bit of Friday Rambling and Typing

Linn Ullmann, in an interview with Vogue, on her father Ingmar Bergman:
My father was a very disciplined and punctual man; it was a prerequisite for his creativity. There was a time for everything: for work, for talk, for solitude, for rest. No matter what time you get out of bed, go for a walk and then work, he’d say, because the demons hate it when you get out of bed, demons hate fresh air. So when I make up excuses not to work, I hear his voice in my head: Get up, get out, go to your work.

I thought the quote from Austin's blog might be appropriate for those who get stressed about working from home. We should not be going out to work, but some need to work from home.  I know several programmers who have been working from home for a decade or so and they all love it. I've been doing some refreshing of my skills and may search for something on line to get a track record of generic programming rather than machine programming I've been doing for over 30 years.  Then, I'm in no hurry. I have too much to do.

I enjoy Austin's Blog. I often think of the quote when out in the fresh air. I always get a boost when I could take a break and get outside when at work. I also do when at home.  Now maybe more than ever.  I appreciate that I can get out in the clean fresh air.  Today the sounds and aromas of Spring were everywhere.

A machine can be programmed to some extent remotely and then all takes place on location and at installation at the customers site.

For those who want to hang around for a while I've included some images of the preserve down the street from me. I have been wanting some fog images and yesterday I stopped on my way home from the grocery store.  The time was a bit later than I wanted, but conditions were really nice. The over night frost was just starting to melt off the trees and as I casually walked the trail I not only heard birds and squirrels I could hear the melting frost dropping.

This is a popular spot for many activities including hiking, running, and just plain relaxing.  No bicycles, motorized vehicles (except handicap kind), no horses, no dogs off-leash.  I sometimes run the trails which are almost 5km. across various terrains.

The scrubs were loaded with these webs that were not there a week ago.

This little woodpecker would not cooperate for a portrait.  It looks like a red-bellied, but I could not see it closely enough.  It sure sounded like one when it called.  They have a unique call.

The preserve is greening up nicely after the prescribed burn the first of second week end of March.  I found out about it when all the work was done.

When I posted this the blog format was normal.  I checked it and now it is a link for the title and all the blog list has changed from normal to links. I'm unsure, but I think it is in the copy of the quote at the top.  I looked at the code quickly and don't notice anything abnormal.  I may take a closer look later.  Things change on Blogger as if it were owned, operated, and run on ... Well most readers of this blog know company and OS I do not like in the least.

One day I'll self host with Apache and use WordPress.  If I only had room for servers in my tiny house. I may just change to WordPress since it is quite configurable. Still working on solving the issue with the weirdness of this page.
Other pages are fine.
