Sorry for the typos. I proof read before posting and somehow never catch them before I post and, as now, I am too lazy to redo the post. I need proof reading practice!
Paperdoll, Great idea! In art and photography I viewed images upside down for various reasons so I'd find errors and I have examined program code backwards when there were problems. Never thought of it for text.
I am a fan of that particular typeface, and have a Swissa Junior with that exact same font which was a gift from Adwoa. I believe that Swissa, Facit and Adler all used the same Pica Cubic font from the same slug manufacturer (we compared the Swissa and Adler typeslug markings and they were a match). It's a unique and very attractive font. (:
As for proofreading, I learned long ago how to read upside-down from my years as a printing press operator, and typos really jump out at you when you do that. :D
Ted, On 14 February 2012, I posted on this same TP1 and its Techno typeface. Turns out Facit calls it Pica Cubic, and posted some macros of the slugs. The slugs were made by CSA, Caracters S.A. I do not know all the manufacturers that used them, but I did recognise the unique W on another blog post where someone used a machine other than a Facit. I forget the blog though. Thanks for your list of manufacturers.
very nice! I don't have any Facits yet. I don't even know of any around here.
ReplyDeleteI love this typeface! I'm glad this is such pleasant machine for you.
ReplyDeletePretty cool typeface, I think it's a bit less angular than the ultrarobotic ones. And fine alignment on this good machine!
ReplyDeleteTyposphere memes are fun.
My hubby used to do some proof-reading, try reading it backwards, word by word, then your brain won't correct the typos. X

DeleteYour typecast looks very neat; nice job! I'm reading such good things about the Facit TP1, and I'm glad yours is also working out so well.
ReplyDeleteI Love this font! You're all making me want a facit now. It 's a conspiracy. Lol.
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky to have a Facit TP1 with that awesome Pica Cubic typeface!

ReplyDeleteLooks close to the perfect modern typewriter. If ever I see a Facit, I'll be sure to nab it!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading such great reviews about the great TP1 I'm guess I have to start looking for one.
