Fun Friday Rambling & Babbling

The difference is due to the current storm.  As I finished the typecast a thunderstorm rolled in and I wanted to get off of the wired system.  I switched to my notebook which has a different scanner software package on it.  I did not know there was such a difference.  It looks like it is time to put the scanner package on my server and ensure all the PCs have the same configurations since I still use the notebook PC independently from the server.

These are slightly cleaner Adler slugs.

They both are quite similar.  I do not know if Smith-Corona made their own slugs or used slugs made by an outside company.  The trademarks are not the same.

After I found and corrected the problem I decided to take the carriage apart for cleaning and a few more adjustments.  When I get everything back together I will post on the project, dirty pictures and all!  Yep, dirt included since I doubt I will take photos in detail as I put things back together.  I may, but after stating dirty pictures the clean components may disappoint.

The paper guide originally was about 4mm higher than the ends.  This did not allow the release levers to release the carriage.  The left end was just low enough and the lever a bit longer that the one on the right that it would release the carriage with a bit of jiggling of the lever.
