These bits of typewriter history are always neat to see. Teaching typing has come a long ways, though I can't say if it's gotten more effective. I got an old typing book with a purchase awhile back, and it had some hard lessons in it, for sure.
I have no idea what typing book we used (if any) in my junior-high typing class — or what typewriters we used! But the skill has stayed with me all these years, and I am so grateful for it.

ReplyDeleteI think I could still pass the test Bill, once you learn to type and use it it never leaves you.. maybe not quite as fast but fast enough 😀😀

ReplyDeleteI sure couldn't. Never learned to touch-type since I elected to take the then-new "Computer lab" rather than typing. I did learn to code, though :D
ReplyDeleteI don’t remember what book we used in class. But I do remember the room was full of pretty girls. So there was that.
